Jaffa Bites of Goodness. What's not to love. I've been wanting to experiment with this variation for a while. Nothing fancy here. Just added orange zest and a little of the juice. The extra rolled oats make sure the mix isn't too wet. I have no doubt your family will LOVE them. Simply swap out the nuts for the same quantity of seeds to make them nut free.

Prep Time

Cook Time

24 bites 20 minutes -

  • 1 cup walnuts (Nut Free Option: substitute 1 cup of seeds e.g. sunflower or pepitas instead of the walnuts)
  • 1 cup fresh medjool dates, seeds removed (you can use regular dried dates but the mixture will be a lot drier and more crumbly)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon rolled oats (minute oats give a finer end result)
  • zest from one orange
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1/4 cup dessiccated coconut for rolling

  1. Place walnuts, dates, cocoa powder, rolled oats, orange zest and orange juice into a food processor or thermomix
  2. Process until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs
  3. Roll teaspoons of mixture into balls and roll in the dessicated coconut
  4. Place in refrigerator to set. (Makes approx. 24 Jaffa bites of goodness)
